Photography Tutorials – Aperture explained in plain non techy english

The term ‘aperture’ refers to the opening in the lens that lets light into the camera. Adjusting the aperture value changes the size (diameter) of the aperture, which will affect the amount of light that reaches the imaging sensor in the camera (the digital camera equivalent of film).
