Just got it 3 days ago. Used for a wedding party with amazing results. The lens is crack sharp at the plane of focus. The bokah is supurb. The color and contrast is perfect with little or no cromanince noise in most situations. Granted my tests are not lab results, but in the field, I could not have wished for a better portrait lens to use on my d-700. Thank you Nikon, it was worth the wait.

Have a Nikon D 80 and extremely happy with it (about 1.5 yrs now), and although I haven't used all the bells and whistles yet, I've developed a yearning and laymans understanding of the nIKON d 700, which I'd love to have also! I'm just an amateur photographer, shooting various things in and around Annapolis, Maryland, including landscapes, buildings, people, etc.! Convince me why I should supplement my D80 with the D700, as I'd like to start shooting at night and indoors, at museums, etc. I have several top of the line lenses, including the fast 85 & 105, 24-70 2.8, 70-200 2.8, along with a tokina 12-24 4 and tamron 18-270, and a nikon 70-300!
