The AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED lens adds a powerful third zoom lens to Nikon’s line of Vibration Reduction (VR) lenses. VR is an advanced Nikon technology that overcomes one of the fundamental problems photographers face while photographing under conditions where it is difficult to hold the camera steady. VR technology helps eliminate image blur caused by camera shake, particularly when shooting in low-light conditions, allowing photographers to use shutter speeds about three times slower than they would ordinarily use to get sharp, well exposed images. In addition to a compact design for easier handling, the AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED lens features Nikon’s exclusive Silent Wave Motor Technology for fast, accurate and nearly silent focusing as well as a broad 5x zoom range that covers a variety of picture taking conditions from wide scenic landscapes to dramatic portraits and close-up pictures. Its VR technology offers photographers a wider range of picture taking conditions, while ensuring consistently sharp images. The versatility the AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED lens makes it an ideal addition to any Nikon photographer’s camera bag. The AF-S VR Zoom Nikkor 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED offers a versatile focal range from wide-angle to telephoto and also gives photographers an unprecedented control over their pictures in a wide variety of difficult and tricky situations. Nikon’s advanced Vibration Reduction technology allows photographers to use slower shutter speeds, yet achieve sharper, crisper pictures than before, and with Nikon’s exclusive Silent Wave Motor Technology for nearly instant autofocus response – overall image sharpness quality is raised to new levels. In addition to Vibration Reduction, the AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED lens includes a selection of Nikon advanced technologies such as Manual/Automatic mode, two Extra Low Dispersion (ED) glass elements and two Aspheric lens elements, Silent Wave Motor Technology (SWM), Internal Focusing construction (IF), Super Integrated Coating (S-IC) and G-Type design. Offered exclusively in Nikon’s AF-S optics, the Manual Automatic mode (M/A) allows instant switching between autofocus and manual focus, virtually eliminating lag time in the transition and enabling photographers to make a last minute manual adjustment, even if the autofocus system has locked onto the subject. This performance is complimented by Nikon’s Autofocus Tracking with Lock-on(R), a technology that enables the system to maintain sharp focus even if the subject is momentarily obscured from view or moves off the camera’s AF sensor. Extra Low Dispersion (ED) Optical Glass is a high quality, low dispersion glass that enables superior performance in the AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED lens. 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S VR Zoom Lens

70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S VR Zoom Lens

The all new high-powered 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor lens – (4.3x) – featuring Nikon’s Enhanced Vibration Reduction (VRII) technology is ideal for sports, wildlife, travel and portrait photography, among other telephoto applications. It incorporates many of Nikon’s most advanced lens design attributes such as Extra Low Dispersion (ED) glass, Silent Wave Motor technology (SWM) and Enhanced Vibration Reduction (VR II), in a design engineered for use with both Nikon DX format digital and 35mm film SLR cameras. With a high-powered 70-300mm focal length range, the lens is ideal for sports, action, wildlife, travel and portrait photography, among other telephoto applications. When used on a Nikon DX format digital SLR, this lens approximates the picture angle performance of a 105-450mm lens on a 35mm SLR camera. Beyond the lens’ incredible optical versatility is the benefit of Enhanced VR II Vibration Reduction — an innovation that makes it possible to take substantially sharper handheld pictures at slower shutter speeds than would otherwise be possible. This provides the distinct advantage of being able to shoot more effectively in a much broader variety of challenging conditions. With the new Nikon VR II advantage, users can take pictures at shutter speeds as many as 4 stops slower* than they ordinarily could shoot without the image degrading blur associated with camera shake at slow shutter speeds. Nikon’s advanced VR technology further enhances picture taking potential with a choice of two modes to match most shooting conditions. VR Normal Mode primarily compensates for camera shake, and includes automatic panning detection, as well as automatic tripod detection. VR Active Mode effectively compensates for vibration in situations where it is more pronounced and more frequent, such as when shooting from a moving vehicle. To further ensure outstanding optical performance, the 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor features two Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass elements and three complex aspherical lens elements that provide for higher resolution, high-contrast images while minimizing chromatic aberration, astigmatism and other forms of distortion. The lens also features Nikon’s compact Silent Wave Motor technology (SWM), which combines fast and precise autofocusing with super-quiet operation, as well as Internal Focusing (IF) construction that allows the lens to focus without changing its external size, improving balance and handling characteristics. 67mm filter attachment size.

200-400 mm f/4G VR IF-ED AF Zoom Lens – NEW!

November 13, 2008 by Digital Camera Reviews · Leave a Comment

200-400 mm f/4G VR IF-ED AF Zoom Lens – NEW!

Nikon’s first AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 200-400mm f/4G IF-ED lens with Nikon’s advanced Vibration Reduction (VR) technology and highly regarded Silent Wave Motor technology incorporated into a compact design that is easily hand held. Designed for news, sports/action, wildlife and nature photographers, this innovative new lens is based on a new optical system that features four ED glass elements. Nikon’s advanced VR technology overcomes one of the fundamental problems photographers face while photographing under conditions where it is difficult to hold the camera steady. VR technology eliminates image blur caused by camera shake, particularly when shooting in low-light conditions, allowing photographers to use shutter speeds up to three stops slower than they would ordinarily use to get sharp, well exposed images. The VR technology in the AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 200-400mm f/4G IF-ED lens offers users a choice of either Normal or Active mode. Normal mode detects camera shake when the lens is hand held and the photographer is on a stable base. The Active mode goes a step further to detect vibration caused by photographing from a moving platform, such as a car or a helicopter. Its VR system is smart enough to detect a panning motion and correct vibration on the vertical axis. Its new optical system features four ED glass elements that minimizes chromatic aberration and produce high quality images. Through low dispersion characteristics the lens’ color performance is enhanced by virtually eliminating secondary chromatic aberrations that are common to telephoto optics that do not include ED glass. This technology enhances image quality with added visible sharpness and contrast to the image. In addition to VR technology and ED glass elements, the AF-S VR Zoom- Nikkor 200-400mm f/4G IF-ED lens includes a selection of Nikon advanced technologies such as Manual/Automatic mode, Silent Wave Motor Technology (SWM) and G-Type design (aperture control exclusively from camera body). Offered exclusively in Nikon’s AF-S optics, the Manual Automatic mode (M/A) allows for instant switching between autofocus and manual focus, virtually eliminating lag time in the transition and enabling photographers to make a last minute adjustment, even if the autofocus system has locked onto the subject. This performance is complimented by Nikon’s automatic Focus Tracking with Lock-on(R), a technology that will enable the system to maintain sharp focus even if the subject is momentarily obscured from view, or if the camera’s AF sensor momentarily moves off the main subject. The AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 200-400mm f/4G IF-ED lens also features Nikon’s Silent Wave Motor technology. This innovative technology is highly regarded by professional photographers for its silent and fast autofocusing with superior accuracy and ultra-quiet operation. This technology is exclusive to Nikkor optics and is incorporated in a large assortment of lenses that bear the AF-S mark. The G-Type feature in this
