Just Posted: Our in-depth review of the Nikon D5000. Nikon has been on something of a roll with its recent DSLRs and, with the D5000, we see much of the technology from the D300 trickle down to the entry-level for the first time. In addition to that 12 megapixel CMOS sensor, the D5000 gains a tilt/swivel LCD monitor to help make the most of its 720p HD movie capabilities. Nikon officially announced today the release of their latest DSLR camera, the D5000. The Nikon D5000 features a 12.3 megapixel DX-format CMOS sensor , 1 button Live View, a 720/24p movie mode, 11-point AF system with 3D tracking and has 19 scene modes you can choose from. It also features a unique 2.7" tilt and swivel LCD monitor. The Nikon D5000 will be available for retail at $729 body only or $849 that includes an AF-S NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens. As one of the more interesting announcements of a somewhat uninspiring PMA 2009, Canon's new TS-E design allows independent rotation of the tilt and shift axes relative to each other and the camera, answering the prayers of many an architecture and landscape photographer. Olympus E-620 announced and previewed

Pre-PMA 2009: Olympus has announced the E-620 upper entry-level DSLR. The 12.3MP camera is packed with features from the recently introduced E-30 in a body nearer the size of the the E-420. It incorporates image stabilization, a 2.7" tilt and swivel LCD and features such as Shadow Adjustment Technology. From the E-30 come a selection of Art Filters, a Multiple Exposure mode, a choice of 4 aspect ratios. A range of optional accessories will be available, including a vertical grip and an underwater housing. We've borrowed a near-production version of the camera and have prepared a detailed hand-on preview to show you what to expect.
